6 If he begins a-shaving there,
The crew will let him know That they will surely kill him Or down river he must go.
7 When Loveland hired the barber,
He gave him to understand He was to shave all the crew, Each and every man.
8 He shaved the crew, the bosses too,
And all around the place; But the next he shaved was Loveland, And he done it before his face.
9 When Loveland found that he was getting beat,
These words to him did say: "I think IVe had you long enough, I'll settle with you to-day.

11 He shaved the crew, the houses too,
And all around the farm; They say he built two houses Where Loveland built a barn.
